DESCRIPTION:Pennridge CROP Hunger Walk invites YOU to participate in our 42nd annual walk to end hunger on Sunday\, October 12\, 2025. \nTwo routes are featured.  Registration for both the five-mile route and the shorter “Golden Mile” route begins at 12:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church\, 20 Dill Ave\, Perkasie.  The Walk\, held rain or shine begins at 1:00 p.m. The longer route will include a stop at the Pennridge FISH pantry\, the local recipient of Pennridge CROP Walk funds. Canned goods for Pennridge FISH will be collected at registration. \n  \nThose who find walking too difficult are invited to participate in a CROP Rock in the parking lot at St. Stephen’s UCC at the same time. Raise funds for CROP while rocking in your favorite rocking chair. Contact Pastor Jeff Wargo at St. Stephen’s UCC\, Perkasie\, for more details. \n  \nTwenty-five percent of all proceeds go to Pennridge FISH for local hunger use.  The remaining funds will be used by Church World Service and its partner agencies for hunger and disaster relief in the US and globally.  If you plan to walk\, see Julie Neff for a sponsor form or instructions for registering on-line as a member of your congregation’s team. SUMMARY:Rise Against Hunger
DESCRIPTION:Zwingli will be partnering with Ridge Valley UCC and Trinity UCC for this summer’s mission project which targets remote\, last-mile communities within hunger pockets designated as “serious” or higher on the Global Hunger Index. These locations are among the most difficult to reach. Access is challenging\, communication limited\, and infrastructure poor. Ridge Valley has been working with Rise Against Hunger every other year for 4 projects. Trinity started in 2023. \nThe actual packing day will be September 27th. Between the 3 churches we’ll be needing 35-60 volunteers. We’ll know the exact number by the beginning of September. This is a one-day event of about 4 hours including setup\, packing\, and cleanup. \nYou can learn more about the program by going to riseagainsthunger.org. Although some may have grown up as fundamentalist\, evangelical Christians\, mama bears are willing to risk losing friends\, family\, and faith communities to keep their offspring safe—even if it challenges their belief systems and rips their worlds apart. \nMAMA BEARS is an intimate\, thought-provoking exploration of the journeys taken by Sara Cunningham and Kimberly Shappley\, two “mama bears” —whose profound love for their LGBTQ children has turned them into fierce advocates for the entire queer community — and Tammi Terrell Morris\, a young African American lesbian whose struggle for self-acceptance perfectly exemplifies why the mama bears are so vitally important. \nThis film is meant to jumpstart respectful\, deep-listening \nconversations between Christian and LGBTQ+ communities in a safe\, open environment facilitated by leaders trained in nonviolent communication.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 22nd\, Zwingli UCC will join with four other Souderton churches for worship in Souderton Park.  The morning will begin at 9:30am for those who would like to enjoy free donuts and water bottles\, continue with pre-service music at 9:45 with the Family Worship service beginning at 10:00am.  The service will be led by local pastors and lay persons from the five churches. \n  \nWe last came together in 2019BC (before Covid) for this ecumenical service\, a wonderful and Spirit filled time together. \nPlease bring along lawn chairs and/or a blanket to sit in/on.  Loose monetary offerings\, as well as canned goods\, will be received for Keystone Opportunity Center.  You are also welcome to bring along your offerings for Zwingli church in your church envelope or simply drop it off at the office\, give electronically\, or give online. \n  \nIn case of inclement weather\, the service will be held at Souderton Mennonite Church.  We will notify folk Saturday\, June 21 in the evening if weather necessitates the change in venue. \n  \nWe look forward to worshipping with our Christian siblings and ecumenical partners who work together in ministry and fellowship.  The other churches participating are Emmanuel Lutheran Church\, Souderton Brethren in Christ\, Souderton Mennonite Church and Zion Mennonite Church.   If you have questions\, please be in touch with Pastor Butch or Pastor Alan.

DESCRIPTION:In the current political situation\, many of us are feeling scared\, stressed-out\, unable to control our situation\, and are looking for support. One recommendation to deal with stress is to get exercise. Our DEI Team has started a Walking Club to support one another and to begin exercising to help both our physical and our mental health. \nJoin us on Tuesdays from 6-7pm at Souderton Community Park\, 447 Wile Avenue\, Souderton.
