Welcome! Now enrolling for our 2024-2025 school year.
About our nursery school…celebrating our 52nd year!
We are a community service of Zwingli United Church of Christ. We provide a meaningful and enjoyable nursery school experience with special emphasis on physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
Children are taught in a multi–age classroom, offering the students a well-rounded preschool education. All the children attend Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning sessions. We have a great team on board–all our teachers have education degrees and years of experience. Our Director is Beverly Godshall.
We have a great program in a beautiful, modern facility! Click here for an interactive map and directions to 350 Wile Avenue, Souderton PA 18964.

School Day
Our Monday-Wednesday-Friday morning sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. The daily schedule includes approximately one hour of free play when children may do various activities such as puzzles, blocks, dolls, books, and learning games. Circle time is a chance to encourage discussion, read stories, and share ideas. Music in the form of singing, CDs, rhythm instruments, and dancing is another important part of our curriculum. Through our art activities we expose the children to as many different materials as possible to develop their creativity. And we have a well-furnished classroom and playspace for the children.
During circle time, the teachers will divide the children to develop age-appropriate skills. Both the 3- and 4-year-olds will work on their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills. The 4-year-olds will be prepared and ready to enter Kindergarten the following year, and the 3-year-olds will learn to separate from their families, share, and play well with others, along with learning shape and color recognition and other age-appropriate skills.
The children will participate in a variety of field trips on Fridays, and guest speakers will be brought in throughout the school year. These educational trips coordinate with the themes that are taught in the curriculum.
Calendar, 2023-2024
Coming soon is our nursery school calendar (pdf). All dates and events are subject to change by the school, if needed.
Bad weather?
Zwingli will email families by 8 a.m. if school is closed. When the Souderton Area School District is closed (or delayed two hours) due to inclement weather, the Nursery School will be closed.
Tune your radio to KYW (1060-AM) for notification of school closings and listen for the Souderton Area number for school closings, 309. Community members can subscribe to receive e-mail notifications for Souderton Area closings.
I like it when we do calendars.
Thanks for reading us stories and helping us. Thank you also for giving us snacks and calendars.
I love doing special projects with my teachers. We always have fun!
Teachers nurture the seeds of today so they can bloom into the flowers of tomorrow! Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for being my teacher and letting me play with toys this year. I love school.

Why Multi-age?
In a multi-age classroom, opportunities exist for each child to interact with children of varying backgrounds, abilities, interests, personalities, and ages. According to Lillian Katz, “the intention of multiage grouping is to increase the heterogeneity of the groups so as to capitalize on the differences in the experiences, knowledge, and abilities of the children.”
In a multi-age classroom, children are viewed as individuals and expectations are adjusted for each child. Continuous progress in the curriculum promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Research shows that mixed-aged grouping helps children develop social skills and a sense of belonging.
For many children, this is their first experience with non-family members, and their first exposure to a social environment with their peers. Our objective is to provide a meaningful and enjoyable nursery school experience with special emphasis on physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. The classroom setting provides an atmosphere for interaction and learning including behavior, socialization, and intellectual/academic accomplishments. A wider range of social development will increase your child’s independence and promote the development of self-help skills. Younger children may look to more mature peers for assistance. The mixed-age classroom provides an appropriate setting in which children can practice leadership and mentoring skills.
Multi-age groupings encourage more peer teaching and enhance your child’s sense of mastery and self-worth, as well as cooperation with and appreciation for others.
