Rev. Butch Kuykendall
Pastor Butch was called as Zwingli’s Senior Pastor in 2007, after serving as Associate Pastor for nine years. Ordained in 1995, he served First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Protestant Campus Ministry for the University of Nevada – Las Vegas before coming to Zwingli.
Butch earned a B.S. in Chemistry with Religious Studies minor from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA, a M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a Master’s of Divinity degree from Duke University Divinity School and Doctor of Ministry degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary.
Butch has been involved with Grand View Hospice as a volunteer chaplain, educational consultant, and supporter for nearly 20 years. He serves as a facilitator for a Pennsylvania Southeast Conference Community of Practice (pastoral excellence and support group) and is a trained Stephen Ministry Leader. Butch is also an instructor for the Pennsylvania Academy of Ministry. He’s the author of several encyclopedia articles and the book Grief and Loss: Your Questions Answered. Butch is married to Dr. Sally Kuykendall, author and professor. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with their blended family of Matthew, Eva, Mark, Alex, and Emily, as well as tennis, hiking, reading, traveling and rooting for the Blue Devils!
